In this case
I would not say "It's the buyer beware". Buyers ARE trying to make themselves aware, but the branding is misleading. When one sees a label called "Vista Capable", one would naturally take that to mean it is 100% capable of running all of its features, not 50% or even 99% capable.

I don't know if there was an intent to mislead or if this is simply a case where the marketing department couldn't think of a snazzier phrase to describe a computer that could boot the base OS but not run all of its features, so I don't know if a monetary penalty is necessarily in order. But if all this suit does is change the labeling into something that clarifies the facts to the consumer then this is a good thing.

An idea: if "Vista Capable" really just means it is "Vista Home Basic Capable" and not "Vista Home Premium Capable", then just call it "Vista Home Basic Capable". Simplifies everything.
