"The difference between the Novell/Microsoft agreement and indemnification (as Novell used to provide and Red Hat still does) is the direct royalty payments from Novell to Microsoft for use of Open Source/Free Software code. ?That's the part that is (IMHO) violating the GPL... blah, blah, blah..."

But when pressed to be specific Jeremy admits the GPL has not been violated and instead says the "spirit of the GPL" is violated.

In other words he believes his interpretation of the LICENSE is different that what it actually says and that he is unwilling to live by the actual terms/language of the GPL.

When asked about all the companies/people sued for violating the actual terms of the GPL because they interpreted it wrongfully and if they should have the same freedom he is taking, he never replied. Gee, I wonder why???

The truth here is that users WANT this sort of interoperability between proprietary and (GPLed) open source and his refusing to participate demonstrates that he believes his ideology trumps the users wants and desires. The guy needs to get over himself...
