If AMD can't produce...
a CPU that will compare with Intel in performance they may not be around for a lot longer. They are so completely outclassed by Intel i7 that they aren't even in the ball park. It is hard to believe they can't come up with something ant closer.

I have to wonder why they knocked down the cache to 512k per core on their new quad core. Their dual core with 1MB of cache runs really well. They could have produced something stellar had they kept the same cache/core on the quad. It's almost like they didn't want to do something great. In fact a move like that just to keep from upsetting their line up was stupid. It defies reasoning.

They can't keep selling processors at rock bottom prices and they can't raise the price if they don't give the consumer something to brag about.
