Read Some Kafka, It'll Become Clear

Mr. Zawinski was doubtless referencing Kafka
because Kafka's works, such as The Trial
and The Castle are well known for dealing
with "the worst elements of form filling,
bureaucracy and officialdom." There's a lot more
to Kafka than just giant cockroaches, and the work
"Kafkaesque" is often used in connection with
nightmarish, illogical bureaucracies.
