The disparity between AMD...
and Intel processors is greater than I can ever remember. It's hard to believe AMD's best offering compares to Intel's lowest offerings. Your take on the i5's holdback is probably right on.

What in the way of architecture besides multi threading is giving Intel such a huge performance advantage. It would seem that AMD would be actively looking at something to close the gap. But you don't even hear any rumors of even a glimmer of hope.
