It's the software
All Windows after XP SP2 is spyware and controlware. Even the WinLiveID and all Windows "LIVE" stuff. Avoid anything Windows "live" like the plague. The software after XP SP2 is designed to run like a turtle unless you buy new hardware - which of course MS wants you to do so they can get a "fritz-chip" into your PC. The fritz-chip is the be-all and end-all in spy and control technology. Look up Intel vPro. It's DESIGNED to allow others to control your PC remotely, and to prevent you from disabling any remote control software.

To buy expensive hardware in order to run Microsoft spyware is not an intelligent thing to do.

People are talking about entirely the wrong topics when they discuss Vista and Windows 7. They should do some REAL research on exactly what these technologies are designed to do. If you value your privacy and autonomy at all, you won't let any Microsoft anything written after XP SP2 into your home. Even SP3 was a desperate attempt by Microsoft to get some of Vista's spyware onto XP, when they realized most people weren't buying into their Vista boondoggle and were keeping XP. SP3 does NOTHING for YOU, it just allows others to control what your PC can and cannot do in certain instances.
