I agree Microsoft has a bit further to go as far as aesthetic, but they've come a long way, and I applaud them for that. Over all, after a couple of changes, I like the interface that Win 7 brings to the table and how smoothly everything runs.
If you're having issues with speed, it's the hardware, not the software. Chances are the reason you like XP is because it's designed for a system that would now be six years old. Speed is dependent on the hardware just as much as the OS, and if you're noticing a drop in speed, you have to look at both - you can't blame the OS entirely for what could be your inability to keep your system up to date.
And as far as bloatware goes? They've slimmed this WAY down from Vista, and even so, if it's bloating, you're doing something wrong. Take ten minutes to configure things the way you want and remove unnecessary software - every OS comes with pre-installed software that you may or may not need, and if you don't choose what you need and dump what you don't, OF COURSE it's going to be bloatware! - Posted by: pratttech Posted on: 04/27/09 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
