- ? Compatability factors in a mixed OS environment

I brought a Laptop home with Vista on it and tried to get it to communicate bilaterally with my desktop computers running XP. I think not.
We know the OS's may or may not be fast in certain areas. The faster the computer the sloppier the code. The big question, at home or in big enterprise is the same.
