XP actually has a similar feature. I had a system
that wouldn't boot after changing motherboards. It
would start going into Windows and then reboot. After
switching the MB back it did the same thing. When I
started to reinstall XP it said it need to repair my
HDD. After it finished the repair, I wasn't paying
attention and didn't 'hit any key to boot from CD' and
it booted off the HDD and went right into my previous
install of XP.
