eSATA sucks REAL, REAL BAD with multi bridged interface enclosures...

i got slower than USB 2 speeds over eSATA to a triple interface
Seagate FreeAgent 1TB drive... got some good advice... got an
OWC eSATA only enclosure (dual drives bays for $67), ripped the
drive out of the Seagate enclosure and got transfers faster than my
internal drives. Seagate and WD are supposed to be the worst, but
still, the more simple the interface the better... eSATA only
enclosures just have power and an extension of the data cable to
the drive from your eSATA card... that's what you want.

if you want the real advantage of eSATA don't go with a bridged
multi-interface enclosure... go for an eSATA only enclosure...
eSATA is wicked... firewire 800 is a joke compared to a proper
eSATA setup.. and cheap too...
