Finally some PCI-e 4x slots on Motherboards
I am impressed with the initial batch of X58/ICH10R motherboards by both Asus and GigaByte. Some if not all of them finally have PCIe 4x slots which are perfect for lower end ($300) real Hardware full bandwidth RAID 4 disk cards for raid 10 which in my opinion is the highest throughput & redundancy solution.

I just don't trust Intel's ICH Matrix RAID as being truly RAID.

On that same note though a couple of these higher end boards have Marvell simple RAID 1 or 0 chips on them. While that is encouraging it is not a full fledged hardware RAID solution.
