They both need each other
Linux got here because of the web. As an OS for the phone it's
irrelavent . With a Linux apache powered web site , the equalizer
is the browser, which for now is all iPhone, veiwing all those Linux
powered websites. It's safe to say the web wouldn't be what it is
today without Linux.
