Universal Video Decoder and Blu-Ray
I just acquired an ATI-based HD3870 card, and it was a substantial improvement over my previous Radeon X1950 Pro. CPU usage for Blu-Ray playback dropped from a maximum of 80% to a maximum of 30%.

This is clearly a benefit of the Universal Video Decoder (UVD) in the newer ATI technology. Even the less-powerful ATI HD3450 cards do a great job for this same playback.

Surely the HD4550 will continue to provide a really good value for the buyer.
