... Apple can't be great without Steve Jobs. I personally don't feel this is necessarily the case even though when Jobs was ousted proved to be a disastrous decision for Apple.
Apple is in a strong growth period and is heading in an interesting direction. I don't think Jobs' successor must have a hardline "What Would Steve Do" approach. However, he or she must have a similar kind of clear, simple vision of what Apple is and what it can become and build the company around that.
Steve Jobs must lay the groundwork for someone to take over the company when he's no longer steering the ship. Honestly, he doesn't need to show his hand.
