gadget lust vs. Dell and color
I think Dell would be better served by working on CRM rather than marketing. After my experience with Dell several years ago I've switched to hp and IBM / Lenovo.

As far as color goes, my daughter the non tech wants a pink digital camera for graduation. My son doesn't give a hoot about color as long as it runs games at light speed. Perhaps there are two different types to market to?

But if you are creating dissatisfied customers the increase in marketing necessary is going to really eat into margins. Not good in a business where margins are razor thin.
