xp isn't "old"
once it stops being supported, it will grow old, but every service pack brings new life. what can't it do, besides play dx10 games or be hindered with drm, that i can't do on Vista? of course i have mac os and freebsd that i use for everything except games. and the ps3 for games as well, so my xp time is limited. i got vista ultimate for FREE from the "heroes happen here" launch of visual studio 2008, sql server 2008, and windows server 2008 (got them all free actually), and haven't installed it (or any of them).
