This entire paragraph makes no sense at all. Not about the money, ok sure (wink wink) ! STEC has certainly spent a substantial amount of money for R&D also. It is already a leader in this technology in military and other markets. I have no idea at all what the next two sentences are supposed to mean. They seem to be contradictory. As for compatibility, cross-licensing is not required for this at all. Open specifications or reverse engineering can produce exactly the same results.
