...as I responded to your earlier set of tests, this test still suffers from an inequality in terms of systems specs vs OS age.

I would like to see your tests done on the minimum spec systems for each OS (as you yourself suggested in your reply to me).

I do think it's interesting that responsiveness was affected less under Vista - surely this is a good thing, and the ability to keep using the PC more efficiently is definitely worth the trade off of a few seconds of file copy time.

Finally, can you make it clear that you are testing XPSP2 on a system that wasn't even around when SP2 was first released, and at that it's a version of XPSP2 + 4 years worth of updates refining the system. Compare and contrast that your SP1 is running on outdated hardware with no refining updates on top of the system.

You made these points in your talkbacks earlier, but maybe they should be made in the main article for anybody who hasn't read all the talkbacks?
