Lie down and take it??? I think not...
Your list of items to get Explorer to respond faster is laughable, as Vista has proven itself as a monumentally inefficient user of all of those items.

My well used, 3 year old Dell Dim 8250 is as perky, if not perkier, than my new Dell Dim E520 w/ basically 2x the hardware resources.

The difference? The 8250 runs trusty Win XP Pro, while the sluggish E520 runs Vista Home Prem.

No way should anyone simply lie down and accept this abomination of an OS.
