1) HE (who every "He" is) did NOT get DVDs because it is not available to the GP. yet.
2) SHE (Mary Jo Foley) got them, since she is probably one of the most popular journalists who report on Microsoft. Letting her have them early is one of the few things Microsoft can do to stop many rumours from being circulated on the Web before they get started.

I doubt that she got the DVDs "because it's not available to the general public, yet." Microsoft's reasoning was MUCH more sinister than that. Anyway, this is SOP for Microsoft. It's certainly nothing new. It ALWAYS happens: The Press get it before we do. PERIOD. Complaining about it will never change their minds, unless Microsoft decides this is NOT good for their image. To date, they've never thought so yet.
