2" of screen space, a solid state drive, and dual graphics cards are the only thing this Alienware has over the Inspiron 1520 I just purchased.

The difference in money, however, is much more prevailent. Twice as much the cost, in fact.

Not only that, the Inspiron 1520 has Vista Ultimate and 4GB of RAM and feature a 4.8 on the performance scale, with marginally lower gaming FPS.

Crysis, UT3, and Oblivion run fine on the Inspiron, especially comparoing the 256mb 8400m GT to this Alienware's dual 512mb configuration.

In short: a few hardware improvements that show little to no actual gain don't warrant a double price tag uf up to $4k+.
