No ISP in my place (Australia) provides connection software for Linux on 3G wireless modems.

How do you propose to connect to the Net?

Linux has a lot of program weird names ..

As to running Windows programs as someone asked ... I've heard of something called 'Wine' that's suppose to do it?

Linux will never be suitable for mums and dads ... therefore never main stream. No good mounting an argument - it's a FACT. (I know - you know a lot about computers - but 85% of Windows users don't.)
