I downloaded the 64 bit version the other day there and if I'm being honest it was frankly mediocre, it felt like I'd been wisked back to the golden era of Windows 98, it didn't connect to my network and wouldn't play my video files game over as far as I'm concerned.
I tried Linux Mint a few months back and it was far better than this waste of ones and zeros, Mint connected to my network without me having to do anything, it also displayed all computers on my network and allowed me to instantly share files etc, it also played all of the video files I threw at it.
In summary as a native Windows user I say ditch Ubuntu 7.10 "Mouldy Mouse" and get behind Linux Mint, as its hard to take Linux seriously after trying Ubuntu 7.10. To have any chance of avoiding becoming yet another "also ran" Linux has to try and appeal to the average Windows user, and Ubuntu 7.10 looks and feels like its arrived at the party a decade too late, the average Windows user just isn't going to put up with that, they don't have enough beef against Microsoft to justify jumping ship back to the stone age just to spite them. - Posted by: Skullet Posted on: 10/21/07 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
