Not the same mistake again!!!
Well I never forget what my late father in law told me once, "don't waste time with Apple". That was 1989. I was doing computer science at the university. It was the time when the information on the Internet was still only accessible to a small segment of even computer communities.
My father in law had developed a hardware device which could be connected to the serial port of a computer. This device could receive weather information from satellites and could display weather map on a computer screen with the software that he also had developed. He had customers from a few countries around the world. Farmers and people with boats could get the latest weather information without connection to any communication lines.
But what is the relevance of that to the ?rough day for Apple's PR??
Well it is not exactly the same story but it has a good lesson for the younger generation. My father in law had developed the hardware and the software for almost every platform from IBM compatible PCs to even the dying breeds (then) like Amiga or Atari, but Apple had refused to give him information he needed to develop the same thing for Apple computers.
The lesson is that I never touched Apple products again and when a few years later I became the director of IT in a company, I replaced all their apple computers (which were used for graphic design) to PCs. This move was not easy as I had tough time convincing the graphic designers for the change but not long after, every one was please for the move as Adobe was dropping support for its products on Macs.
Well I though somebody at Apple has learnt something from the past.
