Asus vs eVGA
I purchased one of the first Striker Extreme boards in Dec 2006 and then spent months attempting make it stable. Many RMAs and months later, I switched a different Asus board, until that failed. Finally, after giving up on Asus and its 1980's style tech support and I moved "down" to the $170 EVGA nForce 680i SE, which almost has all the same features as the Striker.

The eVGA board is rock solid and the stock 3D Mark06 scores are just as good.

While I do miss some features like the extra temperature sensors, I don't miss the high cost and low stability of the Asus board.

You should try the eVGA versions of this board.

(NOTE: I don't work or know anybody who works for eVGA.)
