choice is always nice
i can't agree that i find the interface 'ugly', I find a bit more
refined than the cartoony Firefox and IE7 looks. The
resizable text boxes are excellent, as is find-as-you-type.
One issue is a basic one: having to triple-click to type a
new address in the bar. It's one click for a carat, two to
select a word (why?), and three to select the whole URL.

Also, the font rendering is quite smudgy on the standard
setting - just going to go try it

As for the security concerns, I'm behind a firewall and have
antivirus installed.

Overall I'm very happy to use Safari as my default browser!
