Looking at the thread, your post struck a nerve with more than just me, apparently. Since I don't develop software of any kind, I didn't take personal offense at your original comment, but the crudity begged for a quick response. I was simply implying that your disgust would most likely be multiplied if you were forced to use it and pay for it. After you accused me of being ignorant, I felt compelled to clarify and defend my position, hence the detailed reply.

So, instead of trying to balance the comment-wars with idiocy, how about we make clear, supported arguments? To me, that seems more worthy than worrying which position is too laden with defamatory remarks. After all, isn't the reason there are so many flames in comments is that slander is so easy? I'm not trying to set a double standard, only a new one. Won't you join me?
