Use them for crafts
That shiny surface is nifty for many crafts. CDs make a great source material for fish scales. Many Native Americans use them for rosettes in native costume (following an age-old tradition of using using new and unusual materials for the purpose).

My favorite use for them is as clock faces. Clock mechanisms can be gotten cheap at craft stores, as can numbers that can be glued, transferred, or painted on the surface. I then mount it on a display stand (of the sort used for collector plates. They make great gifts.
