Overall...not relevant
I have a Kindle 2 and already have the ability to download huge numbers of public domain books. That's nice to have. What makes Kindle far superior is the ease with which I can purchase new/current books, plus other periodicals. Just 20 minutes ago someone referred to The Long Tail, a fairly recent book by Chris Anderson. I opened up my Kindle, clicked twice and had the book on my Kindle ready to use about 25 seconds later. Sony/Google can't offer that. The Kindle hardware/software is simple to use. I haven't used the Sony device so I can't compare but I find it hard to believe that it is as usable as Kindle.
