A couple of points
First, I have to disagree with the concept of the iPhone, or any other small screen devices, being suitable for ebooks. While the casual reader might find that suitable, most of us would prefer a device capable of displaying a page at a time with print large enough to be read without eye strain.

Second, one application for these devices that I rarely see discussed would be for students. With the escalating cost of text books, not to mention the physical load of carrying around a backpack full of heavy books, wouldn't the Kindle be an interesting alternative? I would hope for a color screen at some point, but a wifi connected book reader would be an excellent way to get our schools off of the textbook treadmill. Through in some tablet functions, and we could revolutionize our classrooms.
