Too bad you have to jailbreak your iPhone to have access to third-party applications and the ability to mod your phone.

None of that if you go with [url=http://www.nseries.com/open]Nokia Nseries[/url] phones.

Also, with supported phones like the Nokia N95, you can use fring over your unlimited data (data-packet) plan and just leave it running in the background to receive inbound SIP phone calls, Twitter, AIM, Skype--no wireless router Access Point is needed.

The question I have Matt is, will the iPhone be able to spawn fring and run in the background or will you have to exit the app to use any other iPhone feature?

BTW, I've got Asterisk SIP server running at home with an ATA and also have my N95 configured as a SIP phone extension--works great with fring (SIP to SIP is free with [url=http://www.sipphone.com/]SIPphone[/url]).
