The slate is dead?
The MobileTech roundup guys say the slate is dead, but the iPhone is a very successful slate. I wish HTC would build a machine with an iPhone form factor; no keyboard, wide-vga native resolution, with an interface designed to work without a stylus or hardware keyboard.

Actually, I would like something a bit larger than the iPhone, maybe even heavier, just not any thicker. The bigger it is, the easier it is to use a finger instead of a stylus. I love my HTC 8925/Tilt, but QVGA is a bit too small for web browsing. I think the iPhone screen is too small for web browsing too. WVGA or even 800 x 500 native resolution needs to be five inches diagonal. I guess I'm designing a device to fit in between the cell phone and the UMPC - I want one!

I do agree with the guys that a keyboard is necessary for a UMPC. I just wish the HTC Shift allowed voice cell phone and not just data. I would love to have a Shift with a Bluetooth stereo headset that worked as my PC and my phone for mobile computing/communications.
