U3 is for n00bs
You can get the same functionality without using that abomination called "U3". Portable apps abound. U3 is simply unneeded, and not to mention intrusive -- try to uninstall it, I dare you! It doesn't run on Linux, OS X, or any OS other than Windows. There is no option to stop the U3 launcher application from running every time the drive is plugged into a system; only holding the shift keys can stop it.

Thankfully the company was forced to release a firmware updater that would remove the U3 software from the drive. Removing it manually is nearly impossible.

Professionals simply don't need crap like these wasting space on our flash drives.
