I recently avoided some Channel 5 (KING Seattle) reporters but some of my associates were not so skilled and ended up on the five O'clock news. Expecting to get a rebroadcast at 11 PM, I settled in to a commitment of 1 hour to see the video clip of interest. It didn't come. Disappointed, the next morning I was told that there was a webcast and happily I was able to view the material - which was important for those who pay me, and speak with authority later about it.

Content providers have a new medium. But there is more to this story. If I had been interviewed I would have asked permission to post the web version on YouTube. Folks are way to generous with their chat to reporters. Why not get something for your time. If not money, then the fame of You Tube. See this and see Google management as wise. I can see a lot of need things coming from this. Like rebuttals to news clips, and we all need those because to often the reporters have already written their stories and are just looking for quotes supporting that story. Google does a lot of good and the You Tube deal is part of that.
