Journalism should be Neutral
Just present facts. No bias should be allowed in journalism. If the author presents a biased opinion, it should be "commentary," or "propaganda." If it's news, it should be non-biased and not withholding of facts that may affect privileged parties. If you add commentary, like this site here, then the news stories have a tendency to be succeptible to immediate fallback on the author if the author misbehaves. I feel more comfortable reading news on sites that offer commentary boxes, because then the bias and opinion are not only reserved for the reader, but offered to the reader as a publication service. Even if there is bias, at least it's up to the readers of the news to discuss it and scrutinize the possibility. I once dated a girl, majoring in journalism at USC, who felt the same way, that there is a difference between biased commentary and news journalism.
