Page Rank penalty: how it can backfire
People can influence Page Rank and eventually get banned on Google for doing so. Interestingly, the techniques that got you banned in the first place can be used to ban all your competitors from Google organic search. By banning a large number of websites - whether rightly or wrongly - Google is actually planting the seeds for a new type of attacks against them - organic fraud - comparable in scale to click fraud or impression fraud.
