Totally agree that online/offline sync is very much a key problem that I thought was more mature than it appears. We are long overdue an open source option. This is something I've been doing alot of research in lately and LCDS and MS Sync are the only offerings I could find any (not much) info on and both are dependent on vendor lock-in.
