Yeah. What Happened?

Wallop had the necessary buzz after Flash Forward and Max and then totally lost steam. A couple of reasons I came up with for the extreme slow down:
Wallop's UI - lots of neat features but while they all share the same space, they don't really have much tie in together. I've got a bucket for my conversations, one for my blog, one for my pictures but they don't really seem to compliment each other in any way.

Going to someone else's page can be confusing since my navigation is at the top but your navigation replaces my navigation in the UI. Makes sense to me but watching my wife (a regular computer user) try to make sense of it was painful. I think part of that might be the trap of "Developers needing to remember who the target audience is" - i.e. you are designing a UI for the lowest common denominator to successfully use, not other devs. Or, maybe they are and that's ok too.

Building a network - This UI I love. But, unless you know someone in your network, it's hard to meet other folks. Not to mention you can only search for others by name, not by anything else. So same problem, unless you know someone by name... I believe making it easier to find folks with common interests would build communities way faster. The way it is now, communities are segmented pretty much based on who you already know.

I hope they can get users to return, but there has to be a reason to come back.
