Your post makes no sense
Could you explain the difference in your mind between "gold rush" and "bubble"? To me, they are not two ends of the same spectrum as you suggest. Was Web 1.0 just a bubble (and not a gold rush) because it left no legacy or tangible infrastructure benefit (yahoo, ebay, amazon, and thousands of miles of fiber optic cable don't count obviously)? And when you say that "venture capital firms...will do quite well," what's your basis for saying this? In a gold rush, the people who make money are the ones who "sell the shovels," not the speculators.
