Useful I find even for a single user. Or maybe I'm useless.

I use two techniques: an installation.txt file for each PC so I know what did ... and what didn't work. I find this particularly useful when exploring new territory, here you might do something for the first time but it won't stick in the memory.

I have a folder of HOWTO's, usually saved web pages but sometimes documents e.g. you might remember roughly what to do to have Explorer open at a folder of your choice on startup ... but can you remember the exact paramets for the command line? Me neither.

I also try to keep the address of the file with the tip: it might move ... or the site might grow and provide lots of other goodies.
