The 3 limit doesn't apply to background
applications like Anti-virus. It's three
active applications that actually take a slot
on the taskbar. Personally, I don't even
exceed the 3-limit on my quad-core desktop
computer with a huge LCD screen and I'm
certainly not going to hit that on a small-
screen netbook. I've always had a habit of
exiting applications rather than minimizing
them and I don't like more than 3 active things
to manage.

As far as the "fancy graphics features", I've
pretty much had to turn it off for Netbooks in
my testing because of the additional CPU usage
which can interfere with video playback. You
have to remember that you're on a slow Atom
platform which typically has a 945 chipset in
it. In my Windows 7 ultimate testing on a
netbook, I've put it in to "performance" mode
for appearances and settings but I've enabled
the Vista look with font smoothing.
