- Stupid netbook trick
-
Ubuntu on an Acer Aspire One.
Create user "reader".
Rotate display 90 degrees.
Opera browser set to "fit to screen".
Texts from Project Gutenberg.
Read your html texts in portrait orientation.
No horizontal scrolling necessary.
Downsides: Very confusing trying to navigate
with a touchpad, get an external mouse.
Switching users is a drag, but better than
manually switching screen orientation every
time. When you sit holding a netbook open like
a paper book, people tend to back away slowly.
Your mileage may vary.
