It just amazes me sometimes how people will listen to such claims without trying it for themselves. Maybe a netbook isn't up to the task or maybe it is....try it and find out.

I've read a guys blog who claims he does LAMP development....the full LAMP stack on his netbook. I don't see why they couldn't be used for at least web app development. Now maybe you won't want to compile some large project but how often are students going to be doing that?
