Absolutely right. Most of the problems non-techies have with computers are based on the assumption that it *is* voodoo and thus far to difficult for a layperson to master. In reality, computer skills are acquired relatively easily, provided one is not afraid to experiment and make mistakes (kind of like learning a foreign language). They also have no impact whatever on one's social acceptability, honest! It's just that nerds tend to like dealing with machines better than they like dealing with people (they're techies because they're nerds, not the other way around).
