Getting Through is the Issue...
To tell you the truth, talking as someone young helping people in his family, the problem also has to do with how receptive people are to your help and learning. It may be just me, but computers seem simple enough, but getting that across sometimes is like ramming into a brick wall.

The problem is finding the medium between spoon feeding and throwing them on the side of the street with a map and telling them to find their way home.

It's all about them wanting to learn, and if you can't get them to want it, spoon feeding is the only way they'll take their poison.
