Ah.. It's clear as day now...: Quite frankly, he learned more about geography on Christmas eve than he has in two years of school. Geography isn?t covered on our state standardized tests, you see, so it?s hard to squeeze into a loaded curriculum.

No freakin' wonder our up and coming generations can't find their way around a globe any more. They don't even bother teaching essential things any more.

So why isn't it on the standard state curriculum? WTF? When I went through the school system 35 odd years ago, it was well entrenched in grades 3 - 5.

Gotta wonder if this is some sort of conspiracy. It seems that every time something happens around the world, the media trots out a bunch of high school grads who can't find wherever the feces is hitting the fan on the globe. We all get embarrassed by the apparent stupidity of our youth. Well... Now we know why. We have a confession.

Maybe you need to reorganize the educational priorities. Maybe you guys need to stop teaching about Heather and her two mommies and such and start focusing like a laser on the BASICS. It seems odd to me that 35 odd years ago, they managed to squeeze it in between things like reading, writing, math, history and social studies.

If I were you, I'd be highly embarrassed posting that geography isn't being taught any more.
