Do you try Twine ?
I do not know Diigo, based on your post, it seems to fill very well your "social bookmarking" needs.

But, have you tried Twine? ( http://www.twine.com ) It is not mere a "social bookmarking" service, instead, it is a "Network of Interests" heavely focused on academic collaboration and with a practical aproach to wath the web will be (Web 3.0 or Semantic Web).

Take a look at Paul Miller's post (here, on ZDNet!) http://blogs.zdnet.com/semantic-web/?p=220 and please share your comparison.
