Train to understand
Nowadays, computer education is too much focused on learning how to use a particular user interface of a particular application. Unwise, because those interfaces can change and applications themselves can change.

Instead, children should be educated to understand how to deal quickly with applications in general. Any application.

Throw an application with an unfamiliar interface at them, tell them wat the app is supposed to do, and stimulate them to find out for themselves, how to do it. Let them use Google as an aid. I bet the kids will love this new approach.

That's how computer education should be. That will teach them real digital skills. And make them understand how applications work *in general*.
