My Dell has no arrows...
on the trackpad. If you remember, I had no idea of the
scrolling capability of the trackpad on the Dell until you
told me. Again, if it's intuitive, you shouldn't need arrows
on the trackpad to tell you it's there.

As I said, I think neither method is intuitive. To me, just
like uniqueness, intuitiveness is binary: It either is, or it
isn't. Neither of these is.

You're correct in that I'm not overly familiar with the
trackpad scrolling on my Dell. I rarely use the machine,
and I never use that feature, because I find it so awkward (I
keep trying to scroll with two fingers). So I stand corrected
on those points.

However, as I said, there's a difference in philosophy here,
and I feel that Apple is looking forward to the scroll bar
becoming just an indicator, like a progress bar.
Furthermore, having to find the top or bottom right of the
trackpad, simple as that is, is just one more step that
needn't be taken.

To use the over-used car analogy: My wife's car has
power windows. You can press the button once for the
windows to go down, but must hold the button for them to
go all the way up. On my car, you only have to press once
for them to go either way. Pretty small thing, but it's
those small details that make the experience so much
better.
