Multi-touch with one hand is nearly impossible
in an environment where you have to hold the thing in one hand (nowhere to put it down or you are constantly on the move) and control it with your other.

I totally agree with your premise that a touch screen is useful. This isn't about touch screens, this is about multi-touch screens. The iPhone proves that multi-touch with 2 hands is next to useless on a small device, forget about multi touch with 1 hand!

I don't know how much more clear I can make it: touch screens are incredibly useful. My cell phone has a touch screen and it is a joy to use. I'm still waiting for someone to list even 1 commercial use for multi-touch on a single user device. People have mentioned special case uses and I fully admit that multi-touch is fantastic on multi-user devices like Microsoft Surface but I don't think I'm asking too much when I say: give me 1 reason why I would buy a multi-touch tablet instead of a single-touch tablet.
